With Moving Day just days away, I’ve been spending every possible moment with my friends and family. On Sunday, I took my teenage nephew to Brooklyn Bridge Park in DUMBO. In addition to his iPhone, Snapchat, girls and videogames, he is also interested in photography. I planned to act as his assistant while we wandered around the park looking for subjects to shoot, but somehow, I ended up in front of the camera.
I’m most comfortable in ultra feminine, flirty dresses and wear them almost exclusively. Still, I had never been more grateful that I decided to dress up. I got this dress from Old Navy. I’d like to say it was the charming flutter sleeves that hooked me, but really, it was because it kind of reminded me of the one Beyoncé wore in the “Hold Up” video.
“I hop up out my bed and get my swag on. I look in the mirror say, ‘What’s up?’ What’s up, what’s up, what’s up?”
Though I spent a lot of time in front of the camera, I managed to sneak in a shot or two of my photographer. My nephew has some real talent. Either that or his beautiful subject made it too easy for him. Ha!
I hoped we would grab a slice of the best pizza in the world at Ignazio’s, but we had to run before the restaurant opened. I wasn’t terribly disappointed though, because getting a slice of shrimp and Applewood smoked bacon is a must on my #byebyebrooklyn bucket list, which means that I’ll be visiting again very soon. Make sure you’re following me online, because when I do get that slice of heaven, Instagram will be the first to know!
