Earlier this week, I asked Bean what present he was going to buy me for Mother’s Day. “I’m not buying you any presents,” he said. “It’s not your birthday.”
Mother’s Day is next Sunday, May 13 and while my son still needs to figure out how it works, you don’t need to look any further for gifts and activities for your queen in the Queen City. Here are eight things to do for every mom in Charlotte on Mother’s Day:
Enjoy the juried art show, musical entertainment and locally crafted beer and wine with the artsy mom at the Spring into Arts Festival in Downtown Concord on Saturday, May 12. If artsy mom is most creative after a glass of wine, take her to the Live Laugh Paint “A Mother’s Love” sip and paint event at Treehouse Vineyards in Monroe.
Take a free coding class (and get a cupcake!) with the techie mom at the Microsoft Store at the SouthPark Mall on Friday, May 11.
Treat the foodie mom to brunch at a Charlotte Magazine approved restaurant (after all, they do know the best restaurants in Charlotte). Here are some more local eateries, to increase your odds of getting a reservation for Mother’s Day.
For the mom who wants to get her groove back –er, on — surprise her with tickets to see country singer Kenny Chesney at the PNC Music Pavilion on Friday, May 11 or R&B crooner Charlie Wilson and Friends at the Bojangles’ Coliseum on Sunday, May 13.
Cheer the fit mom on at the finish line or race her to it in the H/K/B Cosmetic Surgery Mother’s Day 5K presented by SPORTPORT near Symphony Park in the South Park area on Sunday, May 13.
Get all the freebies for the mom who loves a deal. Don’t forget to leave some for the rest of us!
